Real Hope

You know,  I am getting tired of all the retoric from the presidental campains. We are by one candidate being promised hope. No specifics, no plans, just some vauge form of “hope” coming through some undeifned change that I get a feeling will cost me (and most of you) a lot of our money, but I digress. I would like to give you true hope, something you can count on and here it is:
Hope: expectation of good, hope; in the Christian sense: joyful and confident expectation of eternal salvation; on hope, in hope, having hope: the author of hope, or he who is its foundation, or as Paul said it under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit:

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. –Titus 2:13-14

My hope does not come from the government, my job, my family (though I love them dearly) nor my friends (though I am thankful for them). My hope is in a future that has been secured by the death, burial, and ressurettion of my Lord, Jesus Christ and that He is coming back for all those who have trusted Him sa Saviour. That hope is as sure and true and trustworthy as the God that made the promise that:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. –John 3:16-17

And that is a promise you can place your hope in, because the One that made is true and will keep it.

Just something to think about
