John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
The Way: G3598 hodos Apparently a primary word; a road; by implication a progress (the route, act or distance); figuratively a mode or means: – journey, (high-) way.
If Jesus is the Way, we need to get onto it.I remember one somewhat infamous spirtual leader once was quoted as saying “like the separate spokes of a wagon wheel,” all religions are connected and lead to the same “hub,” the Creator.” I would agree, just changing the last word to “Lake of Fire.” Jesus’ use of the definite article shows there is no other way that leads to the Creator of the Universe.
The difference between Christianity and religion is religion is man trying to make a way to God. The fact is nobody can be good enough, do enough good works, say enough prayers to know if they pleased their god. Christianity answers that question: no you cannot ever be good enough.
Since we could never be good enough, and God loved us so much and desired a relationship with us, He reached down and made a way for us to come to Him, through His Son Jesus. When we could not be good enough, He sent His perfect Son, who knew no sin, to be sin for us. He took our sin, He gave His righteousness. It was not fair, it was not right, but it was what love required.
The Bible speaks of only two ways, the wide and the narrow.
Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: (14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
And this way is only found through Jesus.
